Transitional Employment Consultants
Organizational Information

Vision, Mission and/or Purpose of Organization
TEC's mission is to assist individuals with disabilities to become productive, independent members of the community by providing job readiness training and placement into competitive employment.

History of Organization
TEC was established in 1984 with a grant secured by the Washington County Mental Health Association. This was a collaborative effort involving the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation Washington District Office (OVR), the Washington/Greene Counties Mental Health/Mental Retardation Program (MH/MR), the Mental Health Association of Washington County, and the University of Pittsburgh to provide supportive and/or supported employment services for consumers of mental health. During the past twenty-four years the agency has expanded to meet the growing demand for comprehensive employment services to all disability groups.
